According to a Malay tabloid, some students are purchasing Dextrometorfano pills from local pharmacies which allegedly causes hallucination and wet dreams when consumed.

Dextrometorfano pills, used to treat Tuberculosis or TB, are sold at RM0.50 a pill. The pills can cause death if taken in large quantities. According to the report, students consume between 5 to 10 pills a time to experience the desired effects.

Dextrometorfano pills can apparently cause similar effects as the drug Nospan which is normally bought by drug addicts.

Both Dextrometorfano and Nospan contain dextromethorphan which causes hallucination.

Some local pharmacies are allegedly selling Dextrometorfano pills directly to students or to middlemen for distribution to students.

Consistent use of these drugs can cause damage to the nervous system and lead to mental illness.
